ASCEND ESCAPES PORTUGAL
Sometimes the women who most need time to rest, reconnect, and be cared for are the ones who have spent so much of their lives caring for everyone else.
For our 2027 Ascend Escapes Portugal retreat, we are offering two $1,000 scholarships to women who have experienced, or are currently navigating, a particularly challenging season of life and who have also made a meaningful contribution to their community.
This might include caring for a seriously ill family member, navigating or recovering from your own illness, or facing another significant personal challenge. We are especially interested in supporting women who, before, during, or after that experience, have found ways to give back through volunteering, nonprofit work, advocacy, mentorship, community service, or simply showing up for others in a meaningful way.
You do not need to work in healthcare to apply.
THE SCHOLARSHIP
Two recipients will each receive $1,000 toward the cost of the May 25–29, 2027 Ascend Escapes Portugal retreat.
The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s retreat registration. Travel to and from Portugal and any expenses not included in the retreat package remain the responsibility of the recipient.
RETREAT ATTENDANCE
We encourage you to apply if:

You are currently going through or have recently experienced a significant personal or family challenge.

You have contributed to your community in a way that is meaningful to you.

Time away to rest, reconnect, and be supported by a community of women would be particularly meaningful to you right now.
There is no perfect story and no particular type of community contribution we are looking for. We simply want to hear about you, what you have been through, and why this experience would matter to you.
